Lana Bay

Lana Bay is located on the north west coast of Phi Phi Don Island, and is only a 10-20 minute boat ride from Leisure Dive Center (depending on whether you leave from Laemtong pier on the west coast or Laemtong beach on the east coast).

This large secluded bay has no hotels on it and is normally very peaceful and quiet.  It’s the perfect site for beginners as most of the marine and coral life is between 5 and 12 metres.  Swim among schools of snappers, find nemo and look for moray eels hiding between the rocks.  There is also the chance to see leopard sharks peacefully sleeping on the sand, such as the photo above.

Keen underwater photographers also enjoy searching for unusual nudibranchs and other critters here and the shallow depth makes ideal light conditions for photos.  We often combine this dive site with nearby Nui Rocks, also a fantastic macro dive site.

Depth: 5 – 16m

Current: Mild
