Scuba Diver

PADI Scuba Diver Course:

Get a scuba diving licence in just 2 days!  The PADI Scuba diver course is perfect for those who don’t have the time to complete the Open Water course or just want to explore reefs at more shallow depths.  The Scuba Diver licence allows you to dive worldwide to a maximum depth of 12 metres under the supervision of a dive professional.  Fully upgradable to the Open Water licence at any point in the future, it allows you to dive on your holidays without repeating the exercises from the Discover Scuba programme each time.

Course Structure:

After enrolling in the course, you will be given a PADI Open Water manual (available in over 10 languages) and the corresponding DVD to watch in our classroom.  The total theory time including watching the DVD is around 3 hours, which you may do over 2 days if you wish… so plenty of time for sunbathing too!  Students generally start watching the movie that day and finish it by the following evening.

The next day (day 1) you will meet with your PADI instructor again and they will show you how to set up your scuba equipment.  Then they will take you into shallow water either off the beach or in the swimming pool and you’ll practice some exercises.  This session takes around 2 hours.  Afterwards you will also be shown how to dismantle and maintain your gear.  By the evening you should be finished with watching the movies and have completed the questions in the manual, which you will discuss together with your instructor the next day on the boat.

Day 2:  Time to dive!  You’ll come onboard our boat “Oceanic 3” for a half-day around the marine park and complete your 2 open water dives!  For the first dive you will have a couple of skills that you learned in the pool then practice your buoyancy control by swimming around amongst the colourful fish with your instructor.  Then we have lunch on the boat moored up in one of the sheltered bays around Phi Phi Don or Leh, and then you’ll jump in for your second dive.  You’ll repeat a couple more skills which you practiced the day before at the beginning of the dive before finishing off with a normal fun dive.  By the time you return to the beach at around 2pm, you’ll be a certified diver!

The minimum age for the course is 10 years old.  All PADI materials, logbook and certification costs are included.  After completion of the course your instructor will issue you a temporary licence valid for 90 days, and in the meantime PADI will process your permanent card and send it to your home address, usually within 30 days.
